Her new series, set in the same world, is ‘Rhiannon’s Ride’ with the first in the series The Tower of Ravens hot off the presses in the US, where an early reviewer at ‘Romance Junkies’ gave it an almost unprecedented five blue ribbons. Kate has also written a young adult fantasy called The Starthorn Tree, published in Australia and the UK, and a children’s fantasy called Dragon Gold. She is the author of a contemporary literary novel Full Fathom Five, published under her maiden name, Kate Humphrey, and a collection of poetry called Radiance. Several of Kate’s books have been short-listed for the Aurealis Award for Australian Fantasy, and The Starthorn Tree was shortlisted for the Western Australian Children’s Choice Awards and the One Book, One City campaign in Brisbane. In addition, The Witches of Eileanan was named as one of the Best First Novels of 1998 by Locus.

Kate has also worked as a freelance journalist for publications such as Vogue, Black & White, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Mode, and Sunday Life. She has a BA in Literature from Macquarie University and a MA in Writing from UWS.
