Biography

Douglas Noel Adams was born March 11th, 1952 in Cambridge, England. He earned bachelor and master of arts degrees in English literature from Cambridge University.

What really set his career going was when he met Simon Brett (1977) and they together managed to persuade the BBC to broadcasting a science fiction comedy that Douglas Adams had an idea for. The original "Guide" radio show airing on BBC earned him cult status, and he was approached to write a novelization of the script. This ended up as the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a series of books that made him a world famous author.
