Someone had been shaking her; she shut her eyes "Stop! No!" She opened her overlarge eyes and looked around she was back in her bedroom, it was still in the dead of night her husband was beside her shaking her.

"Honey, what's wrong?" he asked.

"What?" Kate answered.

"Y-you were screaming."

"I-I was? Oh terribly sorry I was having a horrible nightmare a large chicken with an axe was telling me was going to eat me for breakfast." They heard thumping. Tiffany was hopping on one foot into the bedroom.

"Mom! Are you ok-ah!" Yelled Tiffany she had lost her balance and had fallen over. " Oopsies are you ok?"

"Oh yes dear I was just screaming in my sleep..."

"Oh..ok..."

"Now go back to bed I don't want you going anywhere without your crutches!"

"Ok Ok." Answered Tiffany. She hopped back into her big purple room.

"Are you sure that you're ok Kate?" asked her husband.

"Oh yes." Kate lied. She yawned and fell back asleep. Kate was jolted awake again, she heard footsteps. She shook James. "Honey, wake up!"

"Huh?" Answered her James. Kate told James what she had heard. "Alright." James grabbed a golf club and slowly stepped out of the bedroom. He went down the hallway and he saw a man taking money from the safe behind the painting of the bowl of fruit. "Hey! What are you-?" Then bang it happened the man had shot James and then he ran through the broken window with a huge wad of cash. Kate ran to her husband's side. "I'll wait for you." He whispered. "I promise." Then he died.

"No! Tiffany! Call 911!" Without replying Tiffany had ran to the phone and dialed 911. When the paramedics came they said that there was nothing they could do for James, he was gone forever. She was determined to find out who had caused her this pain. She wanted to make sure that he had to go through severe pain for killing her husband. She thought about what the man looked like. She couldn't remember she only saw his back as he jumped out of the window. Kate was aching inside, it felt like a piece of her heart was ripped out of her chest, she wasn't full, complete without James. She felt an extreme hatred towards whoever did this. She was going to hunt him down herself if she had to. She saw a card on the ground. It was her work's business card. It was someone that worked with her that did this. Someone had knocked on the door. It was a woman in a gray business suit.

"Hi." Kate sobbed.

"Hello, sorry to bug you so early in the morning but I have reason to believe that there is instability in your household.

"Instability?" Kate shrieked.

"Yes so as a representative of the social services of this town I am forced to put your daughter into foster care.

"Foster care!" Kate shrieked again. Kate had fainted. The woman stepped over Kate's body and into the room with the door that said Tiffany's Room she grabbed Tiffany by the arm and took her with her. Kate wouldn't have gone to work the next day if she hadn't found that wallet. She saw Kevin with a brand new jacket.

"Where'd you get the new expensive looking jacket Kevin?" Kate asked him sweetly.

"None of your business." He said in a strong tone.

"How'd you pay for it?" Kevin looked away and folded his arms.

"I got a little extra money that's all." There was panic in his voice and he went to the elevator. Kate ran after him and she stopped the elevator door from closing and she stepped into the elevator.
