Book 1 of The Toby and Becky Series
A Fantasy Novel for Children, Ages 9 and Above
by R. A. Albano
Turbidine, a most truly evil witch, decides to get revenge against Bartol,
the Knight-Wizard of the enchanted land of Porphyria, by turning the entire
beautiful valley into a bleak and empty desert. Bartol, too, seems to
have disappeared; and all looks hopeless for the residents of Porphyria.
Meanwhile, in California new residents 12-year-old Becky Austen and her
10-year-old brother Toby discover a beautiful castle hidden in the mountains
north of their suburban home. For reasons that they themselves do not
understand, Becky and Toby feel that they must get into the castle even though
they sense great danger within. Once inside, they find that they have
also somehow been transported to the magical land of Porphyria.
With the help of an elf named Candor, a misfit troll named Hidegud, and a
fairy named Caramella, Toby and Becky search for the mountain lair of the witch
Turbidine in an effort to restore the valley of Porphyria and to return Bartol
to his throne. Buy from Amazon.com
