For Time by Christopher Allan
For time (my most aquainted enemey)
Into refuge, the modern day sonnet,
Has lost much validity, hence, on it-
As its creator's eyes, which now sewn shut
Deep, Deep below, in the earth's browny gut
Should forever glee on their present page,
Otherwise, there eyes would open with rage
And looking up through the box which they lay
Their ideals torn to tear, where they now fray
A botanist would say, "where they decay-
Roots someday will sprout through dirt and clay-"
Chemist's say, "energy shall'nt go away
But just changes form for another day"
If these scientists are right what they say
May their Sonnets grace us some other day
