Love For You Covers My Heart by Neha Anand
Love for You covers my heart
My heart was like a
barren land
unable to see the light
coming from your sun
Unable to feel the coolness
of the rains
you're pouring on it
My heart was hard and coarse
Its shine was hidden
beneath the surface
like a rusted
piece of iron.
Rust of ego
Rust of selfishness
Rust of ignorance
Rust of meanness
had covered its surface
forbidding it
to shine and cry out loudly
that
I am yours
And
You are mine.
But thy greatness,
Which when falls
on a piece of black coal,
turns it into gold,
fell on this heart of mine,
this barren land
You ploughed it with knowledge
And enabled it to see the light
You sowed little seeds
in this land
and saplings of love
sprouted out of it.
You removed the rust
from its surface
and now I can see,
love for You covers my heart.
