"It just couldn't be a better time than this, Geoff...Vaton...Whoever you are. The TRUTH! Lets have it," she said firmly, but under that determined voice she was suddenly experiencing feelings of shyness, it was just a remote sensation she just could not understand. In a strange way, she felt clearly that it was directly related to their present situation but she couldn't make the connection.

"Something Peter just said." The brief sentence echoed and bounced inside the boundaries of her awareness trying to process all the information and sensations she was experiencing.

Vaton, watching her, couldn't help but smile at Diane's strong, clearly thinking mind. Perhaps that's why he loved her so much. She reminded him so much of Titinee, his beloved mate. A sharp pang of pain flashed through his human heart, making him lose his breath for a moment. It was a strong human emotion but at the same time, it was so closely intertwined with the way he would have felt in his own Vestal-Ozuru body. He looked at Diane with shining eyes.

" The truth is so..." started Vaton when Diane, who was carefully listening and watching him closely, suddenly got distracted. Her attention was diverted, Diane took a few paces away from Vaton and Peter, her head cocked, as if listening to a voice or a sound coming from inside her.

"You still cannot connect, can you, Diane?" That voice again. It was the same voice she had heard earlier, back at the warehouse. It was the voice that had saved their lives.

"I know you. You're the one who threw me over the pavement, back there, in the abandoned plant yard. Almost broke my neck in the process."

"Almost. Not quite," the friendly feminine voice whispered with a small giggle.

"What's your name again? I got a hunch that you and this handsome fellow in front of me, here, know each other somehow."

"My name has been recently mentioned by the young boy. Ask him. He knows, the soft voice coming from inside Diane giggled again, slightly amused.

"Hey, Peter. What were the space cadets names again? The two survivors of the spaceship crash you were telling me about earlier?"

"Vaton, here in front of you. The commander of the ship, according to his owns words, and Uvigadva, or something like that. She's supposed to be his communication expert.

"Uvigadva, that's it, Peter. Thanks a million. You're a wonderful kid," said Diane, slowly putting pieces together.

Vaton looked startled at Diane when he heard her mention his missing, dear friend and partner.

Diane, her head cocked even more toward her right shoulder, gave out a light laughter herself.

"It is about time," the soft voice from inside Diane said. "Vaton, that handsome dude, as you Humans call his type, is indeed your husband, Diane. The one and only Geoffrey Henshaw. Vaton, my commander and lifetime friend, is inside your Geoff. It was Vaton I first connected with who in turn connected with Geoffrey who in turn connected with you telepathically in order for you to fly the helicopter..."

"Hold on, Uvi..." Diane interrupted her, thinking fast, recalling vivid images. "In front of the danger I totally..."

"Ignored Geoffrey? Is that what you are trying to say? That's good. Because that's exactly what happened, Diane. That is what we wanted, Vaton, Geoffrey and I. You decided to rely on your survival instincts instead. Which you did. But it was your Geoffrey we connected to your psyche to feed you the information. And it worked, thank heavens...it was Geoff guiding your controls Diane. Believe it or not. Vaton and I don't know how to fly those choppers. You and Geoffrey did a wonderful job together. All we did, is connect you two to one another. We were quite impressed with the outcome."

"What about that huge blood drop we traveled in to get away from the terrorists?" Diane asked, her medical mind itching for a logical explanation for that marvelous achievement.

"That was one of our tricks. I mean Vestal-Ozuru biochemical technology. Remember that you nearly fainted back there by the wall with the soldiers breathing down on our necks? It was me draining your energy, trying to do the same thing Vaton did, but I failed. Vaton managed and brought us all to safety."
