"To us." Christopher brought up his glass.

"To us." Santra replied. They did their cheers and drank. They stared into each others' eyes and ever so slowly Santra's cup began to slip between her fingers. Her blood red fingernails against the glass attempted to prevent the fall. The wine spilt over her and the glass tumbled down. A look of confusion, pain and finally understanding passed over her face all at once. In less then a minute she fell back lifeless onto the arm of the couch. Christopher's vision was blurring but he strained to see his best friend before he died. He let out a relaxed laugh. Her neck, he always loved the way her neck looked. It looked beautiful now...no heavenly. The way it looked for all eyes to see, cocked back, so that her veins strained against her soft sensitive skin. He reached to touch her but did not have enough strength to do so. His eyes glazed over as he felt his throat close up. His last thought was ironically that Santra's last words had been "to us". And then, he died.

Ms. Laurier entered the room 15 minutes later. She had just gotten a phone call from Sean. Lady Lardock's son. He said he'd be home around 7pm. Ms. Laurier stood in the doorway glaring at the two bodies. She then ran screaming to the phone. She called Lady Lardock's close friend, Jim Titlerando. Not only was he her friend but he was also a detective. Once he heard of the situation he rushed over advising Ms.Laurier to stay put and not to worry.

Ms.Laurier jumped at the sound of the door. She hadn't moved from beside the phone for over an hour. She gathered herself the best she could and answered the door. A tall muscular man wearing a brown suede suit towered over her. Detective Titlerando moved past Ms.Laurier and into the foyer. He looked down at the other pair of shoes and then took off his own.

"Where are they?"

"In the cocktail room." she replied. Without a moments hesitation Detective Tilterando walked to where the bodies lay. Ms.Laurier followed and then paused to see who was at the door. Sean had just gotten home. Ms.Laurier stuck up her nose in such a disgusting manner. Sean was 16 and independent and rebellious but above all he refused to wash when asked. Hence an unpleasant smell always tagged along wherever he went.

"Where's mom?" Ms.Laurier wasn't sure how to reply.

"I think it's best you come with me." Rolling his eyes Sean followed Ms.Laurier.

In the meantime, detective Titlerando had reached the cocktail room and had concluded that both victims had been poisoned. He was not sure of which kind of poison but it had killed them quickly. He also concluded that the poison was in the white wine. When Sean and Ms.Laurier entered. Detective Titlerando had just finished reading the letter.

"S.L..." he said out loud. "Samuel Litige, Sean Litige and Susan Laurier. All S.L. as initials. Odd don't you think. Sean walked over to his mother. He lifted her arm, let it drop, shrugged and lit a cigarette. He didn't seem to care about his mother's death.

Frowning Titlerando began his questioning. "To be entirely honest you don't seem to care Sean...your mother's dead!" Sean shrugged.

"Mom and I aren't that close."

"How so?"

"We just aren't. I wouldn't kill her though." Titlerando nodded.

"They were poisoned..." Ms.Laurier cut him off. She was pale and she kept fiddling with her hands.

"Poison! Sean was handling some poison two nights ago. A science project I think. Yes! Yes! I remember.
