A resounding crack echoed off the wall as her head began to swim with vertigo. A wicked smile crept across the face of this soulless being. His victim a lonely college student trembled and clutched her arms to her body. Smiling inwardly while his face masked in horror, he marveled as the girl squirmed further into the corner. Taking one step that would have taken three or four steps for a normal sized man he closed in on her. Cocking his head slightly to the right he admired her framework a small petite average girl and she is all his. As he reached for her the girl eluded his grasp and ran for her life. He chuckles to himself a game he likes games, especially this one chase. The girl ran and she ran, trying to cry out but did not have the strength. Whistling he began to stalk her, the tune he carried gave an eerie chill to the air. Tears began to flow the salt stinging the eyes of the proverbial rabbit. Looking and turning around in a circle she heard the sound of her death march, she drops to her knees. Out of the night, a figure emerged a dark shadow cast against the moonlight. Hope there was hope could this be her savior? She looked around and listened the whistling had stopped. This figure was tall and lean a stellar figure of a hero. The man stopped cocking his head slightly and this confused the girl. Being a quick thinker she assumed that he himself had heard the whistling, so she listened. As she sat back on her hunches, she waited for her guiding light to save her. His shadow cast down on her and she looked into his face and saw oblivion. The menacing face began to laugh a whole hearty laugh that mocked her very being. How could she be such a fool for the second time in her life she believed in him! Grabbing her by the collar the dark man hauled her to her feet. Dangling she spat into his face. A scowl crossed his face with his face features contorted she began to panic. This is the end in a last ditch effort she tried to wrap her arms around him but to no avail it was like trying to cross the Rockies in one day it just didn’t happen. Continuing to struggle against his iron grip he just smirked this was it. The game is over and he had won he always win. Thrusting out his left arm at full length, he held his prey at bay. Cocking his head to the right he cracked a smile, drawing his right arm back and bringing his fingers together he drove it forward. Crack! The ribs and the sternum broke free from the ligaments that held it to the breastbone. There was a muffled gurgle as the girl began to shake and convulse. Guiding his hand forward it began to search for its objective. There in the chest cavity it found its quarry. Wrapping his hand around her heart, he yanked it free, dropping the girl in the process. The girl crumpled to the ground gasping for air, not knowing what happened. For a brief fleeting moment in time she saw what only a few have seen. Her own heart outside of her body. Holding the heart in his hand he looked at it cocking his head to the side and with one reflex crushed the last life out Jenny. Now the deed was done time to get something to eat. Stepping over Jenny’s body he walked away as had done so many times before. It was time to go his hunger subdued it was time to join the human race once again.
