The Battle for Humanity (Part One) (11 ratings) by C.K. Banner
Page 7 of 12 These are three men gliders with a gunner on it. Commander troy paid no
attention to the hover fighters. When I looked up at what he was looking at, I
felt my heart sink.
"In the unlikely event that things do not go according to plan..." He said,
looking down at me. "We have to assure Commander Val and the others that the
Egaji here don’t have the strength or numbers to carry on to Europa." I nodded.
"This is the Purity device. I’m sure you’ve heard rumors about it." Yes. The
Purity device is basically death in a can. I don’t exactly know how, but it
runs on a timer. Once released, this white mist basically annihilates any
living organism within its radius. I looked at it, as two U.U. guys carried a
cylinder no bigger than three feet in length out to us. You can’t hide behind
armor, it doesn’t leave a flesh wound, and you can’t counter it. If it’s
released and you’re in it’s axis, you’re dead.
"What would be the signal to release it Commander?" I asked as he was being
handed the device. The U.U. personnel saluted him and then went back into the
Carrier.
"If they pass through the Dead Zone, and we are substantially outnumbered."
He looked down at the cylinder. The lights from the Carrier glared off it, it
was a perfect silver. Very thin, lightweight. "I would take a hover fighter
into the center of their Armada, set it off."
"Commander Troy," Said another Elect, "I ask that you let me be the one to
set it off." Commander Troy looked at him and put his hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you Draco, but I need you and the others in Battle."
"What’s the radius?" I asked.
"The radius is thirty miles unto the direction you set it off on." He said.
"But if too close to the Raleigh points, you could also destroy our forces." We
began walking back up the hill.
"You have children Lieutenant?" He asked me.
"No Commander." I replied.
"Good."

It was almost dawn now. The fiery orange colors streaked through the
horizon. Every one was at their positions. Commander Troy and I loaded our
guns.
"You always use the ZX 33 Commander?"
"Not always." He said back to me as he attached a nice long dagger at the
end of it. "Only when I’m going to get knee deep in Egaji. They have great
long-range eyesight. But this makes close up battles for them very arduous." He
takes out a MARKS dagger, and tosses it to me. "Here, you never know when it’ll
come in handy."
"Lieutenant Swift!" A voice from the communicator blared. "Movement detected
on the horizon." The Commander and I looked down at our screen. A full Egaji
Armada slowly crept on the radar.
"This is it now Lieutenant."
"Yes it is Commander."
The Egaji had a good size of Alpha Drones leading the charge. These were
really fast; they never used weaponry, only their tail. This was both
simplistic and effective. By the number of them, the (J.T.) would not be able
to stop all of them, and the Blue Stripes would definitely see action today.
For the swift strategy to work, we could not commence our attack until their
entire fleet was in range.
"Sensors indicate that the Alpha Drones are equipped with Egaji armor sir."
I looked back at the subordinate.
"How much of their hide is covered?" I asked. He looked down at his
monitor.
"Everything except the legs, the underbelly and the tail."
I nodded.
"Commander" I asked. "Permission to relay this info to our ground
forces."
"Permission granted." He answered. I activated the universal
communicator.
