Poems
- Hardest Words

Hardest Words
         by Sara Benaway

Here I sit
Thinking about you
Only wishing
I knew what to do

You’ve been on my mind
And I’ve tried to deny it
I don’t want to admit
So I’m gunna pass by it

You mean so much to me
Nobody ever knew
I guess these tears running down my face
Tell me I miss you

One day you’re not going to be there
For me to actually come out and say
I still don’t know how
You’ll know it some day

I know I shouldn’t be
Thinking about you
You just have no idea
I don’t know what to do

You helped me back up
Then pushed me back down
You showed me a side
And then turned it around

I almost want to say
I love you
Teach me what love is
What do I gatta do

GrRr I’m sitting here
Trying to get my feelings out
I just don’t know how to start
Or what to talk about

So I’m saying sorry
I don’t know what else to do
Should I say the words?
Yes, I love you
