BILLY STEELE: KID RANGER--THE DARK SKULL'S REVENGE (1 rating) by Ronald Binder
Page 10 of 18 To sweeten the deal, Lucy Fur betrothed her love to the young, alienated
outlaw.
Once The fly like Sidewinder fell into the web like trap of the spider like
Lucy Fur, she presented her new dupe with The Dark Skull’s old mask. The young
Sidewinder, as a tribute to his deceased father, put on the fabled hood.
Immediately, an incredible power surged within him. Black clouds and bloody red
shafts of lightning crackled and roared around his body as The Sidewinder
became the new, monstrous Dark Skull. Just as his father became transformed
into a titan of evil, before being defeated by Billy Steele the Sidewinder
became such a new humongous horror. As he roared with a hateful laughter, the
new Dark Skull knew he held an evil power that could never be terminated, and
he existed only to destroy Billy Steele and serve the devil herself.
Lucy Fur then implanted her insidious intent into the new Dark Skull’s ear.
Her voice dripped with an alluring decadence as she told the terrible titan to
attack Paradise Valley. The rampaging of the settlement would attract The
Lightning Warrior and once baited, he would fall into their clutches.
"I have a fate worse than death planned for The Lightning Warrior," Lucy Fur
tenderly whispered into The Sidewinder’s ear as the outcast youth gorged him
self on her body of delights.
Just before dawn broke the citizens of Paradise Valley were cruelly awakened
by an incomprehensible destructive force. The new, gigantic Dark Skull
unleashed his fury upon the helpless community. Nearly fifty feet high, and
armed with twin firearms of devastation, The Dark Skull pounded and bashed
Paradise Valley’s livery stable, hotel and church. The pioneers’ became
traumatized as their symbols of civilization crumbled to dust under the
creature’s boot heels. The monster then shot a blast from his enormous six-gun
and the lead missile blew the town’s little red schoolhouse apart. Women
screamed. Ranchers, whose wagons contained their year’s crops and cattle, saw
their wagons overturned by the monster. Years of the town’s backbreaking work
to build a home became destroyed in mere seconds by the angry youth turned
raging monster.
The citizens’ feeble weapons of guns and farm tools were useless against The
Dark Skull’s infernal power as he used his sledgehammer type fists to pummel
his attackers. Soon word of the battle reached Fort Yuma. As Holt’s Rangers
armed them selves with sabers and army carbines, and quickly mounted their
horses to race to the town’s defense, Billy Steele hid behind the barracks and
held his magical black arrowhead above his head. Making sure no one could
discover his secret identity, Billy prepared to exclaim the magic words.
"R.A.M.S.F.E.W.," Billy shouted, as he once again became the phantom
protector of the plains.
While Holt’s Rangers galloped from the fort towards the fray, Billy, now
transformed into The Lightning Warrior, arrived at Paradise Valley to face the
new Dark Skull. The Lightning Warrior, his steed, The Thunder Rider, and his
war dog, The Lone Defender, looked at each other in disbelief. Their worst
enemy, whom they thought they brought to justice has somehow become resurrected
and now has the power of hell itself at his command.
Holt’s Rangers stormed the town to battle the monstrous menace. Led by their
lantern-jawed Col., Holt’s Rangers are a battling brigade facing the most
extreme horrors without question. To preserve freedom for all pioneers, they
would make the ultimate sacrifice if need be. Each Ranger would ride into "the
valley of death" to keep Old Glory flying high. As Col. Tim ordered the unit to
open fire, he, Sgt. Big Boy, Cpl. Jubilee Jones and Salvation McCoy, felt a
momentary chill up their backs for they were again facing an enemy thought
dead. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Ronald Binder, sffworld.com. All rights reserved. No part of this may be reproduced or reprinted without permission in writing from the author.
