William Martell gently lay down on his bed. He was worn out after having a very exhausting day baby-sitting his six-year-old grandchild. Of course he did not have to for their family was very wealthy, in fact he himself was named one of the forty wealthiest men in the world. He did it because he loved to.

"What a day," he thought. Just when he was about to doze off, a young boy entered the room. Carrying his teddy bear he quietly approached his grandfather.

"Grampa," said the boy. "I could not sleep, please tell me a story like you used too."

Weariness crept over him but he still found strength to sit up. Reaching his arms out he slowly raised the child and gently placed him on his lap. He loved this child very much and would have done anything to make him happy. This child meant worlds to him.

There was once a young skinny child about your age who lived in the province. His name was Bill and he lived in a very small house by the lake. He had always hated his life for the kids at his school made fun of him due to the fact that his family was not rich, they did not know how lucky they were.

Bill had always wondered why was life like that. He was an obedient and hard working child, he got good grades at school and was kind and friendly to everyone. Why was life so cruel? What had he done wrong? He’d always asked as he cried himself to sleep.

One miserable afternoon something extraordinary happened. He was going home from school, alone as usual. Upon reaching the cliff something from the sky swooped above him. Puzzled with what just happened Bill gently raised his head up and looked for something though he did not know what.

To his amazement Bill saw an enormous red dragon as huge as the buildings he had seen in the magazines. He stood there in awe for a while gazing at it until it was out of sight.

Excitedly he ran as fast as he could, he had to tell someone but who would believe him?

"Mom, Dad," said Bill eagerly. "You won’t believe what I saw, a real live dragon. Can you believe it?"

His parents didn’t find it amusing though as he was sent to his room without supper to think about what he had just said.

"I’m sure there’s a good explanation for this," said Bill’s mother as she tried to calm her husband down.

"I told you there was something wrong with him but you did not believe me. I told you not to have him, but no you just had to give birth," replied the father angrily.

"He has a right to live, he’s our son!"

"He was almost three months premature, he’s abnormal! They gave us a choice Helen, they said he might have problems. You blew it and you know it!" said the father angrily. He had always been popular when he was young and to see his kid alone everyday, to see him suffering like that was something he was not able to handle.

"Oh God," said the father, quickly coming back to his senses when he saw his son by the door in tears. "I did not mean it Bill."

Bill took one last glance at his father and ran out of the house toward the woods, he was never seen that night

Bill felt tired for he had been running for hours with no sleep. He was confused, Anger was in his heart as well as betrayal. He did not know where he was going, he just let his feet lead the way.

Hours passed and he still hadn’t stopped running. Where was he? What was gonna happened now? He asked himself from time to time yet no one answered.

It wasn’t long before he collapsed, he had not eaten since the previous night. He was breathing hard, his bones were aching yet he still got up. Where he got the strength even he didn’t know. As he stood up a familiar view greeted him. This was the place where it all started. This was the cliff where he first saw the dragon.
