Now concerning the sacrifice: I believe the Earth has already paid it, in blood. Everyone now, we must prepare for our pupils soon to come. You all know your duties."

She dismissed them, but as they started to file out she called for a few to remain. "Delia, Chrystha, and Hannah I will need your help in summoning the bearers. Follow me."

She led the way out of the meeting hall to a secret chamber under the hill with the stones. In the weathered cavern the four treasures rested, each was sitting in a separate wall with a guardian standing silently before them. On the floor was a circular diagram with a star pattern in the center and spokes radiating out to the cupolas holding the relics.

"Each of you chose a spoke and stand upon it on the outer edge of the circle, choose the element which best suits you." Magdalyne directed. "Now this is little more than a simple searching spell, the treasures themselves will do most of the work. Each of you will invoke your corresponding element and in the old tongue ask it to find its bearer and compel them here."

"It's that simple?" Hannah asked, surprised.

"Yes, as I said, the relic will do most of the work. Now let's begin. Chrystha, Earth first, and then continue widdershins."

Chrystha began, speaking in the ancient tongue, "Earth, mother of us all, we are in desperate times and need you, please awaken and find the one to bear you and bring them here, in however way you must." As she spoke, a brown glow enveloped the stone in the hollow on the wall then traveled down the engraved line to Crystha, covering her too with the glowing light.

Next, Magdalyne spoke, invoking her chosen element, "Water, healer and giver of life, awaken and find your bearer, you are needed." Just like before, a strange light appeared, this time it was blue and it too enveloped the cup and the priestess.

After Water came Delia asking Air, then Hannah with Fire. When each of the treasures and their accompanying priestesses had spoken the glowing energies swirled around the circle to become a uniform white light, then together the priestesses each asked their elements to grant them a vision of the chosen bearers so that they might know them when they came. To Crystha came a vision of an Asian girl who was in what looked to be a kitchen serving out soup to a line of starving people. In front of Hannah appeared a picture of a brown skinned girl holding a small kitten in her arms and glaring at a group of ashamed looking boys before her. Delia received a vision of a pale skinned blond girl hiking on a mountainside. Finally to Magdalyne a sight came of a sleeping girl, who to Magdalyne's astonishment, she recognized. It was Brigit, the selfsame girl who had aided the Isle before. With the last vision, the white light surrounding them appeared to burst through the ceiling and out into the world beyond.

"Good job my sisters, now we must wait and trust. The magic will clear their roads of obstacles and guide them safely here." Magdalyne spoke into the silence, and with a hand gestured for them to leave the sacred room.

Out in the world, four girls were suddenly struck with an unexplainable urge to travel and little did they know that magic would aid them to do so.
