Without You (8 ratings)
         by Andrew Bird

When will the lost find their way,
if theres not enough knowledge to know.
What you do right for today,
might tomorrow just never show.

When youve crushed al the diamonds of science,
and salted the essence of speech.
What sound will you drag from the darkness,
what loneliness, lost on the beach.

I thought before now I could love you,
Id not seen your horror, your pain.
Too short is my life yet to show you,
the glories struck hollow by shame.

You left as my life was beginning.
Youd made me, you brought me to life.
How you showed me the joy of the killing.
Now memories can cut like a knife.

My emptiness, growing without you,
is pushing me nearer my grave.
You tell me, now lovelost youll die too.
Given choices, its you that Id save.
