Page 25 of 25 At the end of the ceremony, he/she must sign his/her name to the bottom of
the contract, using his/her blood and the tip of the dagger as pen and ink.
This last part signifies a blood vow, broken only by death. (Qa Tsanu=singular,
Qa Tsani=plural)
I am a child of the night. I work only in the unseen corners of society,
never visible.
I refuse all freedoms to which I was born, instead devoting my life to the
Guild.
I will take no spouse. My blade is my husband; the blood of my victim in my
wife.
My death is inconsequential, my life of little value. I am one of many;
nameless, faceless amidst the crown. None shall know me. My past life is
forgotten.
By my honor I swear: My life is that of a Qa Tsanu. If ever this should be
questioned, my death will be quick and painful.
I am born anew, to live a different life, to die a different person. I am Qa
Tsani.
