50/50
         by Anthony Blasioli

A man orders breakfast and only wants one egg
This explains a half stomach that moves on one leg
He leaves on a bike, he only likes two wheels
Only able to move one pedal, you get depression he feels
Back to his house, which is only half a home
Half of his kids don't know him, half of them grown
When half the time passes, and half the time is still
There is half of the space in your head to fill
When half thoughts of full memories make you forget the past
You regret your idle time isn't there to last
Stuck half way between heaven and half way between hell
You realize nothing is great, it's all just well
When assumptions of life sink in half way
You realize one egg on one leg isn't a bad way to start the day
