When I got home, mom and dad were there and dad shook me up pretty good- asking just where the hell I'd been all night? I thought about shaking him off- it wouldn't had been hard. But, I decided that wasn't probably a good idea. I just said I couldn't sleep and I walked around and fell asleep in the woods. They didn't believe me and sent me to my room. I stewed around in there for a while, but got frustrated with it and stormed out. Mom asked me just where I thought I was going, but I didn't pay any attention to her and ran on out the door.

I went over to Tim's and his mom had gone to the store, leaving him there alone. He was acting weird and said he was tired and wanted to sleep. I got angry and said he was just acting like a little girl. Then, I told him about Mr. Ketton- I'm not sure why- maybe I did want to scare him- I don't know. But it worked, because I thought he was going to start crying- he all but screamed for me to leave. I told him that he better not tell anyone what I had done or I'd make him sorry. I just did to scare him. I couldn't have hurt him. But it made him cry then and I got so mad I picked up a chair and threw it against the wall. It shattered and caused a big hole in the wall. Tim screamed and hid under the covers crying. I told him to go to hell and I left.

I was so angry- I didn't know exactly what I was doing. Things were fuzzy and the only thing I could think to do was go back to the mine. Suddenly, I was tired- so tired I barely made it back to the mine. I went in to the cool darkness and fell asleep next to Mr. Ketton.

I woke up and it was dark. After a while, I took Mr. Ketton's body deeper into the mine and threw him down a deep decline. I could hear his body hit several times before it came to a rest at the bottom. Then I went out. I was restless.

I wandered around for a while and found that I had come out at the lake. It was peaceful and I liked the frogs as they croaked in the darkness. Then, I could see the fire. It was really bright to me and I came up to a clearing and could see everything pretty well. I stayed back in the tree line, though, and watched. It was a bunch of older kids- half a dozen of them. The radio in one of the cars was blaring and they were all apparently drinking or something- they were acting really goofy.

I watched them for a while- three guys and three girls. Two of them were making out and the others were dancing around, singing and screaming. It made me laugh and I came out from the trees. At first they didn't see me but then, one of the girls pointed at me and they all eventually stopped what they were doing and looked at me. The three guys, even the one that was making out with the girl, came up to me and started shouting. Or at least one of them was shouting. He was telling me to leave- it was a private party- or something like that- I don't know. He was really drunk. They all were.

I tried to say something- that I just wanted to join in or watch- but that only made the one madder and he pushed me. Of course, he wasn't strong enough to move me and the others just looked at me. Then, the other two got mad and started shouting. Even the girls started in on me and before long, they were all around me. I guess I panicked a little and I pushed two of them down. Hard. One screamed and the other cursed. One guy disappeared into one of the cars and the girls backed away.
