" Flying. When I was younger father took me flying with him. I fell and almost hit the ground. I know I have the gift but I'm afraid to use it. What's yours?" She kicked a rock.

" Failing my parents and my people. Myself mostly. That's my fear."

" Well I better get this over with. See you later." Brighteyes went off to face his inner fear. Firestar stood up and began to walk; suddenly there was chaos and hectic all around her.

" Chieftess what do we do? What do we do?" An elf stood before her bloody and bruised. There were flames and smoke all around. Two full-grown red dragons flew overhead.

" Fight fire with fire."

" What?" He was puzzled.

" Get all the arrows we have and all the best archers. Meet me back here as soon as you have them." She ran to her parents hut and retrieved Blackmooon and her mother's amulet.

" Let's see how you like getting your own medicine with a touch of magic with it. Blackmoon old friend help me now. Mother, Father guide me." She ran back to find all she had asked for. She conjured a great fire of green flames.

" Put your arrows in this and aim for their wings." Doing as they were told the elves killed one dragon and brought the other down. Firestar gave a battle cry and attacked. Within minutes the other dragon was dead and her people were cheering.

" I didn't fail! I didn't fail!"

Suddenly she realized all was as it was and Brighteyes was coming towards her.

" I did it. Watch!" He jumped up and flew around her and landed light as a feather.

The elves came back and were accepted as warriors. Brighteyes and Firestar snuck off together.

" We're warriors now Brighteyes. And soon I'll be chieftess. I have a secret."

" I know Zela. I've known since I first saw you shortly after you were born."

" Then we were destined to be soul mates Kintare." He took her in his arms as he had seen his father and Shadowswift do with their mates so many times.

" Always Zela. Always" He kissed her and they slowly sank to the soft earth and made love for the very first time. A destiny known before birth and now discovered. Brighteyes and Firestar lead their people wisely as did their children for many generations.
