Dreamnet (4 ratings) by D. M. Chien
Besmirched with grime and marked with time
A leather volume sits
Faded vellum pages, cloaked with dust of ages
Fly forth with musty grit
So ancient is this dusty tome!
This venerated poems home!
That one can scarcely dare to surmise
That within its pages, value lies:
Lays and lore from days of yore
Tell of legends that have been
Riddles and rhymes, good deeds and crimes
All reveal their tales within
And softly, subtly, these stories teeming
Will quickly cast a net of dreaming
Its weave of dragons breath and gryphon plumes
Of mermaids tails in silver spume
And flying thus, with wings of dust
Blithe as a moonlit faerie
One finds the delight, the gladness bright
Found in a humble library
