Ray In The Sun by Stephen W. Cote
Rings for old junkets
Two to a cell
Fists in straight jackets
Ropes demark hell
Bulbs flash, see cartoon stars
Look close, he's going down
Myriad drops on the brow
Visceral red
Raw meat-packing sounds
Confuse the head
Bell chimes, an anxious pause
Look away, the hero's down
One lain on the ground
Ray in a sun
Of bestowed honor
He boxed, he won
Years pass, one photograph
Look back, Ray's in the sun
