The Evils That Men Do by Stephen W. Cote
Listen to a sound all your own
Memorize the words once you're grown
But never forget the price you owe
For sacrifices made long ago
You are ruled by rhythms you've never known
Still taste kisses whispered on the phone
But have no regret for the price you paid
To learn just how the pain is made
The freedoms you enjoy have been paid
Protection for the words you say has been guaranteed
While alive, keep in mind the precious few
The ones who stand against the evils that men do
You cannot escape the evils that men do
Never turn a deaf ear to their terrible truths
History presents new triumphs to prove
Or is that just another evil that the men do?
