He'enalu by Aj Cyr
He'enalu
Rollers to whitecaps spuming in froth
Breakers by jetty spindrift aloft
Billows spray wash up to guiding ashore
Constant pipeline shoots 'ever so more
Boarding a crest that surges the wave
White Horses ride along curling concave
Ripples of swell brim with Spinner's tails
Close, on horizon...sonnets of whales
Rushing white takes me up high above
Beyond the summits blue watery love
Above the tube where wave forms to cloud
And water nymphs dance away from the crowd
Nereid searches the perfect wave
By dolphins who tease and misbehave
The ideal place for he'enalu
From oceanic to up in the blue
Ride wing-heeled 'pon ripple-plowed
Tear the top off a chillin' cloud
Arise all 'combers with pohue hue
To meet the Duke Kahana-moku
He poses the summit 'pon board olo
Of koa wood-made; alaia in tow
Gecko not printed on man friend of Ra
Who watches rollers mirror afar
He balances sky with hands extend
To honor Kahuna not bring summer's end
Thanks Poseidon for his end as well
And praises the moon for this endless swell
