About the Book
In the next two hundred years, there will be a human crisis that will wipe
out more than one quarter of the Earth's population. It will not be war, alien
invasion, or the pollution of the environment that will cause this decimation,
but the onslaught of a virus; the most cunning enemy know to man. Faced with
our own mortality, mankind will turn away from faith, and use science in an
effort to preserve the human race.
The battle for survival will not merely reach into the hospitals and
government offices, but into the lives of everyday people; where it will become
a war between technology and morality, between medical science and religion.
Kyle Reed, a successful entrepreneur and CEO of his own company in the
twentieth century, purchases a medical research company known for its work in
genetics and refrigeration. Unknowingly, he has bought his way, and humankind's
way into the future. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, he uses the technology of
his newly acquired company, Kytec Industries, to preserve himself in cryogenic
stasis.
With the financial backing of a multi-millionaire, Kytec industries becomes
the leading medical research facility in the world. In the two hundred years
that Kyle remains frozen, the human race finds itself thrown into a holocaust;
dealing with the spread of disease and famine. Technology and religion clash
during this time, and human testing will be used to find cures and propel
mankind to survive and prosper.
Awakened after two hundred years, Kyle will be reborn into a world where
there is a cure for every known disease, prolonged life and health, and even
genetic enhancements that give humans flawless appearances. Soon Kyle will find
out that the world around him is not so perfect, and finds he is in the middle
of a war. Revivalist Knights, led by Tyr Huse, a man dedicated to a path of
faith, who serve the church, and the director of the medical research company,
Rein Carn, are battling over the souls of the Twenties; thousands of people who
were born before 1999 and are frozen in cryogenic stasis.
The battle heats up when Kyle has to choose between supporting Rein, who is
obsessed with his quest to design the perfect human species and to this end
needs to use human test subjects, and Tyr, who asks Kyle to help destroy the
company he once founded and protect the lives of the Twenties.
The battle for the Twenties is a battle for the soul of humanity.
