"Probably not as much as I will in fifteen minutes sir, but what part of history do you refer too?" Bru’an poured himself another drink and threw it back, he rifled through the documents on his desk, finding the proper one and sliding it across the desk to Koel. The title of the report was "GENETIC LINKS OF THE HUMAN ALLIANCE" under the title were the words "SEDITIOUS" and "DISAVOWED" were printed in bold text. Koel looked up at his captain. "We could be court marshalled for having this, do you want me to read it?" he looked down at the display again. Bru’an let allowed himself to laugh at the blind loyalty his first officer showed.

"You can if you want, but allow me to give you the summary" he paused before pouring two more glasses of whiskey, "Your going to need this commander" Bru’an stood up and looked out the small window in his office, he could see the fighters rotating positions around the ship. "Nine hundred years ago, our race made contact with another planet. We were expecting some grotesque from of alien, but we found humans. This united both planets and the Human Alliance was formed. Both planets began exploring for other humans in the galaxy. As the centuries went on we made contact with other planets of humans. We expanded the alliance and made contact with alien races. Most peaceful beings, just like ourselves, others well not so peaceful." Koel picked up the drink and smelled it, he nearly turned green just at the smell of it, putting the foul beverage down he spoke.

"So is that how the Tyrian War started, we made contact and they declared war??" Bru’an smiled again.

"Don’t they teach you kids anything at the academy?" Koel looked down at the display and began searching for the key points. "Only that we won the war, sir" As he spoke he looked up and cracked what could be considered a smile.

"Well, basically yes, the Tyrians were brutal nomads that wanted to settle on our planets. There critical mistake was under estimating the strength of the Alliance. They commited all of their ships to attacking the world of Methos. We waited until the ships were in orbit of our world, as they launched thier dropships to invade our planet, our fleet that was hidden behind Methos’ moon launched a full scale attack. As our fighters destoryed the dropships, the destroyers and battlewagons blasted there capships that were wollowing in the planets gravity like pigs in mud. After the battle was over, the united Human race had exterminated the Tyrians. Anyway after that war, the Human Alliance went back to exploring the galaxy. About seventy years ago, a group of scientists from across the alliance gathered for a conference. They had been analysing the collective genetics of mankind. They found that although we can all be classified as humans, there were some minute differences in our genetic ma ke up." Koel looked confused, he reached out for the drink and managed to take a sip of it before coughing like he had just drank bleach.

"If our genetics are different then how can we all be humans?" Koel asked looking rather confused.

"Well the amino acid pairs are the same but there are differences in the protein composition. At first they thought it was because we had all evolved on different planets, but upon further examination, they found parts of a blueprint." Koel leaned forward, showing emotions and proving beyond any doubt that he was not an android.

"What kind of blueprint?" Bru’an finished his drink and put the glass down on the table.

"It was for something called the infinity device, a machine, would change mankind, elevate us above what we are now, and into something new." Koel, interrupted him

"What do you mean, how would it change us?" Bru’an leaned forward and spoke in a low voice.

"Imagine being a creature of pure energy, leaving behind your human body, becoming pure spirit, a child of the universe, being able to occupy as much or as little space as you want." Koel sat back in his chair, running his fingers along his bottom jaw. Closing his eyes to ponder the question that has just been put before him. He opened his eyes spoke,
