Since he was old enough to understand that he was adopted, Mark had searched tirelessly to find out about himself, now that he knew more about his father, he had to make his father’s quest his own, and agreed to help Philip in anyway he could. He stared at the amulet around his neck; he vowed he would keep the amulet safe no matter what.

"So what do we do now?", Mark asked, "We go to Joel’s castle and rescue the princess and my wife" Philip said, and they made their way down the long and winding road. The closer they got Joel’s castle, the more eerie the forest looked, the trees appeared to be dead, and a thick and heavy fog seemed to engulf them. Mark could not hold a scream as he felt the branches of a tree grab him and hold him prisoner, Philip lifted the palm of his had toward the tree, and a lightning bolt broke it half. Mark could not believe what was happening, and tried to believe this was a bad dream.

"Looks like Joel was expecting us", Philip said, somehow that did not alleviate Mark’s fears. They walked on more ahead and heard the approaching of footsteps of Joel’s creatures. Though Mark and Philip fought valiantly, Joel’s creatures captured them, before Mark knew what happened the creatures had them locked in the cold dark dungeon of Joel’s castle. Philip knew he had to find a way out of there, he tried to use his magic, but the force field he was trapped in sapped all his strength, and rendered him incapable of using his magic. Mark was the only hope they had.

Philip looked at Mark’s neck, "Oh no, they have the amulet", he cried, and called out to Mark. Mark started to stir, and quickly woke by the realization of where he was. "Any ideas Philip", Mark asked, Philip looked at his ring, if he could somehow pass it through the force field to Mark, Mark could use it to free himself. Philip tossed the ring, and hoped it would bypass the force field, amazingly it did. "Now concentrate Mark, picture yourself holding the ring".

Mark stared in disbelief as the ring floated off the floor and into his hands. Mark then pictured the chains opening, and they opened. Mark managed to free Philip and they looked at the door, now they just had to worry about the guards. Philip had the answer, he turned himself and Mark into insects and they crawled under the door. They wandered into the next cell and there was Serena and Adriana.

They both looked very pale and surrounded by a force field. Philip used his ring to free them, now they had to find the amulet, "I’ll transport you and the girls to my home, and I’ll look for the amulet." Before Mark had a chance to protest, he was in Philips home with Adriana and Serena. He laid Serena on the bed and Adriana on the couch.

He watched Adriana sleep, she looked so beautiful and at peace, and Mark felt himself starting to be crazy about her. She was beautiful with her long blond hair, slender build and the face of an angel. He brushed a hair from her face and smiled, but then his thoughts drifted back to Philip and he hoped his newfound friend would be ok.

Philip used the ring to render himself invisible, and began his search for the amulet. He climbed up the stairs and starting to search room by room. All of a sudden, he heard Joel’s voice and watched him approaching the stairs. Joel was wearing the amulet. Philip quickly knocked him out, grabbed the amulet and transported himself home.
