The Snake's Deceit (2 ratings) by Elizabeth
The Snake's Deceit
Long has it been since the human eyes beheld
The wonders and beauties of our natural earth
But through our greed we have failed
For we all desire the luxuries of our own hearth
Not always have we been filled with this greed
Before the snake we were peaceful and kind
But through his deceit we found a new need
To know right from wrong to have a clever mind
Now look what devastation has befallen our once fair land
In striving to tame it we have succeeded in its ruin
Yet we still have time if we keep a gentle hand
And to the devils jeers we will not give in
