Sheila moved in and caressed her Mother in-laws hand. "He’s just worried about you, Ma. He didn’t mean to upset you."

"I know, I know honey." Mrs. Robins, replied. "It’s just…so difficult."

"Have they told you anything different Ma?"

"No. After they woke me, all I remember them saying is, they’d be back shortly."

Stevie jumped as the door to the room abruptly opened. Dr. Bill Wertheim and Dr. Arthur Russell had returned.

"How are we doing today, Mrs. Robins?" Asked Dr. Russell.

"I feel rested but the pain is still here, while I was out, it has moved into my right shoulder. I don’t dare move any part of it because it hurts so much."

Dr. Wertheim, combed over Mrs. Robins chart checking to see when she can receive her next injection of pain medication.

Greg shifted his son to his other arm as he stepped up to Dr. Wertheim. "What do you think it is doc?"

Dr. Wertheim, looked up from the chart and peered over his glasses to address Greg. "Were not sure Mr. Robins. Every test we have conducted has come up negative in finding anything that would lead us to your mothers discomfort. We’ve never seen anything like it. This morning, we teleconferenced many specialists. Two of them will be arriving today." Dr. Wertheim turned his attention to Mrs. Robins. "Something so spontaneous, something so mobile. It seems to have traveled to almost every part of your body Mrs. Robins. This makes it very difficult to diagnose. I think our next step is to…"

"Ooh," Mrs. Robins cried out. "The pain. It’s moving."

Little Stevie quickly popped up from the end of his grandmothers bed and directed a pointed finger to his Grandmothers shoulder. "Look!" He shouted. Everyone’s attention was drawn to the ominous and grotesque movement traveling below the skins surface of Mrs. Robin’s shoulder. She tossed about her bed as the pain moved up and over the upper arm and headed down into the biceps. Immediately Dr. Russell enclosed his hands around Mrs. Robin’s elbow and hollered for the nurse. "Bill, quickly get over here and clamp off the upper part of her arm. Whatever it is, we can trap it here." Dr. Wertheim hesitated. The object that moved so freely under the skin of Mrs. Robins arm had him mesmerized. It seemed be a living entity and having direction.

"Now, damnit! Just grab the arm."

Dr. Wertheim dropped the clipboard and reached over to applied pressure above the moving lump. As the nurse arrived, Dr. Russell ordered her to place two tourniquets above and below on the alien object. Greg’s family was shocked and horrified, the boys cried, Sheila fainted and Greg scrambled to get his family out of the room. Dr. Russell, slammed the "code red alert" button. When the medical teamed arrive, he ordered them to ushered Mrs. Robins to the emergency operating room and prepare her for surgery. The alien object within Mrs. Robins, arm began making radical and violent movements back and forth like a trapped animal between the two tourniquets. "Vitals!" Shouted Dr. Russell. "One-sixty over one-oh-five, heart beat ninety five, respiration’s erratic." Dr. Russell’s hand was extended, "Scalpel." Immediately the doctor initiated an incision just above the moving object. As the blade separated the skin and the edges folded back, a stream of white vapor hissed from Mrs. Robin’s arm. The vapor rose to eye level and levitated. Quickly it formed into a sphere of brightly illuminated effervescent streams of tiny sparkling bands no bigger than the size of a golf ball. The operating team was wide eyed and stunned by the strange little creature.
