This was all true, but it seemed that Mortigern and Valderama met at very late hours. Eric felt it necessary to shrug off the thought at least past breakfast. He fixed his bed up, and got dressed for the day, with the set of luggage in the cubby below his bed. It was a school-addressed uniform, along with many others in the cubby. He fitted it on, and fastened the cubby shut. It was knitted by man, with tiny threads woven in and out, looping the robe together. It was stained a brilliant shade of red. Eric placed his hand in the motion activator door, and the steel gate lifted violently, shooting up into the ceiling.

Eric made his way to the stairway platform, and a girl was standing before the platform. She was incredibly beautiful, with rich, russet-colored hair that dangled down to her shoulders. Her face was smooth, with refined features upon it. Her eyes matched her hair color, with a shade of light brown. Not only were her face striking, but her figure as well. Her name was Relene Nissen.

"Hello, there." She said groggily as the stair platform rose back up.

"Hello. You go first." Eric said.

"Oh, no. You go." Relene replied.

"I insist." Eric said with a calm, yet firm voice.

"Very well." She said softly as she stepped upon the platform, and vanished from sight in a breath of light. When the stairway platform rose again, Eric stood on it, and all swirled around him as he was transported down. That would take some serious getting used to. He walked down to the cafeteria, where he once again saw Bryal, but he was also with Valderama. Bryal seemed to have red liquid dribbling from his nose… blood.

"Hello, there, Eric!" He said quickly, as he wiped his nose, smearing the blood onto his index finger. "Just, um, talking with Sir Valderama here!" He said with a feeble attempt to hide the truth.

"Yes. Hello, Eric Metsen. Pleased to have you in this school." Valderama said in a bitter, cold voice. "Be on your way now. No need to be late for breakfast." He said, beckoning Eric to the cafeteria.

"Sir Valderama, do you teach any classes?" Eric asked, not remembering whether he did or didn’t.

"Yes. I teach Air Navigation and Battle. Most valuable class to take." He said, wearing a rather arrogant expression.

"Damn!" Eric muttered to himself.

"What was that?" Valderama inquired furiously.

"Nothing." Eric lied quickly, and slipped away into the cafeteria.

Eric made haste to the cafeteria, where he seated himself at an isolated table.

"Hi, Eric! Mind if I sit with you?" Relene seemingly arrived from nowhere, startling Eric out of his seat.

"Go ahead." Eric said, making room for the fine girl. She sat down next to him, and folded her delicate hands on the table.

"We didn’t really get to talk much at the stairway. My name’s Relene Nissen. What’s yours?" She asked Eric.

"Eric Metsen." He replied.

"Eric, Tony Greene may be coming as well." Relene informed.

"The more, the merrier." He said blandly. Relene frowned slightly.

"Eric, is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Mortigern is out to get me." Eric responded, then realized what he said sounded very silly and paranoid. However, Relene seemed to understand.

"Has your father… passed?" She asked slowly.

"Both parents, as well as my foster parents." Eric said. Relene’s face morphed from understanding into sympathy.

"Eric… you are not alone." She said quietly. Eric suddenly turned to face her.

"What?" He said, quite bewildered.

"My father was murdered, for he was one of the head technicians of the Resistance, along with your father, Revwel.
