Island Of Life (Book Excerpt) by Stephen R. Foster
Page 1 of 1 "I ponder my hand in yours, even if only for a moment and the moment is
fleeting. My feelings for you are deep; my love for you as abounding as life. I
desire you, and want for your touch. Just as the oceans waves yearn to bathe
the beach with their unending constancy of caress, I will adorn you with
affection, until you sparkle as brightly as Christmas tree icicles against the
evening fireplace firelight. My mind will stay eternally open and know only
wisdom and laughter for you; my fingertips will covet only the tender touch of
yours....forevermore. I want to learn your life, with understanding. Let me
comfort you, with the tenderness of my life. Given the chance, I will show you
the hidden man within me, and his yearning for giving. Let me unlock your heart
with the key of friendship, so that I may fill it with kindness and come to
enjoy your life; with you also coming to enjoy mine. Let me know loves giving,
and gift my ever lonely life with your beautiful company. Forever drawn with
feelings of love for you, my heart will always find its way back to yours; just
as sure and steadily as the great river finds its undaunted way to the wanting
and awaiting sea. Welcome me I pray, as the firmament of Heaven welcomes the
rains cooling kiss. Let us want life's joining; just as the sea yearns for the
clouds coming and welcomes it home with blending waves of wanton. Strengthen my
soul with your faith of love, and belief in its glory. I bequeath my heart unto
you, so that you may see the honesty within and know my earnest devotion. May
we explore loves deepest miracles and discover its greatest joys, until the
stars twinkle their last goodnight for us, and quietly, sparkle our hearts to
sleep. Then after we have explored each the other fully and find that love
stirs no more within us, we shall not simply fade from passion, nay, we will
tenderly touch lips, and simply ........ begin love again."
