Poems
- Tears

Tears
         by Jessica Freitas

So many tears I've cried, over and over again,
Over the fighting and screaming,
Over the dreaded snickers, points, and gleaming,
Over the loss of a best friend,
Over the broken years that need to mend.
Oh, so many tears I've cried.

Oh, so many tears I've cried,
Over all the blame,
Over dealing with the hurt and shame,
Over feeling worthless,
Over having to clean up an awful mess,
Oh, so many tears I've cried.

Oh, so many tears I've cried,
Over the lost years of my childhood,
Over how many times everyone said I could,
Over the alcohol spilt,
Over all the pain and guilt,
Oh, so many tears I've cried.

So many tears gone away,
I have left my fear and pain,
I will no longer be left in the rain,
Today is the dawn of a new day,
And I will no longer have to stay,
Oh, so many tears gone away.
