Cessation of Life (1 rating) by Leo F.
Page 1 of 1 The year is 2069 and the scientific technological advances came to a
screeching halt ten years ago. It would seem that the culmination of bio
research development in concert with synthetic gene experimentation, has led to
an airborne virus designed to permanently eradicate all strains of life before
the age of 30. Scientists Martin Belfast discovered this virus shortly before
he died. He gave the virus the name "Cessation" for he realized this virus
would end all life on this planet.
All across the globe the young people have abandoned the idea that they will
ever find a cure for what is now certainly a short life span. Access to food
processing, oil refining plants is available however the majority of these
young people have neither the experience or the wisdom to operate these
companies. People have resorted to their primal nature-taking from the weak and
formulating hostile gangs. The only law on earth now is only the strong
survive. Somewhere around the world day or night people are being robbed,
murdered, and/or raped. Military outposts have been broken into so it is not
uncommon to see full armored tanks rolling down freeways or residential
districts. It has been reported that nuclear missiles has been detonated in
Chicago, the republic of China, Washington DC, Moscow, it is uncertain if these
were deliberate or accidental launchings! Having a good time is the primary
objective today, tomorrow, and every day!
28 years have now passed, it's now 2097 with only two human beings remaining
on the planet, young scientists Chi Loc residing in Lawoon, China and young
physicists Michael Kane. Over the years they have worked together in hopes of
finding a solution for ridding the world of this "Cessaton" virus however
rather than finding a solution they made a startling discovery. The virus after
so many years was breaking down on its own because it could not deal with the
natural elements of nature restoring itself since the toxic chemicals in the
air were now dissipating in light of the end of technological development!
