They continued rolling around on the grass. While still doing somersaults over the cat, Joe screamed, "You’re crazy because you are a talking cat! Don‘t you know talking cats don‘t exist!?"

Gasping for air, the cat said, "There! You’re getting it!"

Joe reluctantly released the cat and raised himself on all fours. He, too, was panting. "Getting what?" He asked in frustration.

"You’re getting play! We’re playing!"

"What? I’m trying to kill you!"

"No, no," the cat laughed. "Don’t you see? We’re both crazy. We both don’t exist. Look at yourself, Joe."

Joe realized at that instant that he was comfortable standing on all fours. He looked down at himself. Horrified, he saw that he, himself, was a cat!

"But," he said weakly, "talking cats don’t exist. . ."

"What? You’re still on that?" The cat was standing by the fence at the end of the yard. "Who cares if we exist or not? Lets just go and play some more already!"

Joe stood staring in disbelief for a moment. He looked at himself one more time just to be sure, and then looked back towards his house. Well, there’s nothing in there for a cat, he thought. He sighed, stood for another moment, and then looked up. "Alright," he said, with more enthusiasm this time, "I could go for a nice play!"

He scurried towards his new furry friend and tackled him playfully. While they were rolling around laughing, a thought occurred to Joe. He withdrew from the playing and looked confusedly at his new cat companion.

"Wait a minute," he said.

"Yes?" Said the cat, eager to get back to play.

"How do cats use phones?"
