The Unidentified Flying Object was unharmed and streaked off at speeds tracked on ground radar at Mach Nine."

No sonic booms were reported despite the speeds recorded.

Identical cases of UFO invulnerability were recorded by trained military observers from bases in France, England, Canada, Brazil, Norway, and Australia, although most of the incidents originated within the confines of the continental United States. It was clear that the governments of many nations issued their pilots a singular command:

"INITIATE RADIO CONTACT AND ORDER THE UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT TO LAND. IF THE UNKNOWN CRAFT FAILS TO OBEY, EVERY ATTEMPT MUST BE MADE TO BRING IT DOWN!"

In summary, the famed Dr. Otto Von Mobile, space warfare consultant for the Central Intelligence Agency, wrote:

"In a UFO with the combination of artificial gravity field and an electro-magnetic carrier, the surrounding atmosphere is held tight against the craft and drawn along with it as the ship moves... much as the Earth's atmospheric shield is held around the planet, despite its high speed of rotation and revolution, by the Earth's gravity or G-Field.

"Because this 'cushion' of air surrounding the UFO prevents friction, the 'saucer' doesn't heat up at those incredible speeds. More important, there are no sonic booms. These craft move in near silence.

"With our 'primitive' technology, any attempt to duplicate the UFO violent accelerations and maneuvers would result in our experimental vehicles melting from excessive heat. Occupants inside such experimental vehicles would be crushed by inertial stresses.

"These UFOs are not damaged and incinerated because they are obviously operating within an artificial gravity field. Even the driving power of these violent ascents and maneuvers would not harm any beings aboard since the gravity-field-force would apply simultaneously to the occupants and the spacecraft.

"By intensifying the energy output and focus of the electro-magnetic carrier of this artificial G-field, it might be possible to use this power to deflect meteors or even anti-aircraft fire, rockets, and missiles.

"My conclusions, then, to this government regarding the probability of SUCCESSFULLY DOWNING ANY ALIEN CRAFT with capabilities such as these were derived only after giving this grave matter my deepest consideration... TO CAPTURE THIS CRAFT, YOU MUST ATTACK IT WHILE IT IS ON THE GROUND AND ONLY, I REPEAT, ONLY AFTER THE OCCUPANTS HAVE EMERGED. Only under these circumstances will the UFO pilots disarm the defensive G-field so its terrific power will not have an adverse effect on explorers working close to the outer hull. THIS RECOMMENDATION IS GIVEN ONLY ON THE PREMISE THAT THE ENTITIES ABOARD THE UFO DO NOT POSSESS WEAPONRY ON A PAR WITH THEIR MOTIVE POWER. Any forceful undertaking might have far-reaching effects as well. Thus far, H. G. Wells' WAR OF THE WORLDS is merely an entertaining fiction.
Be careful lest we make it a deadly reality. Pitting our nuclear capabilities against such cosmic power would negate any real winner... We would surely be tragically defeated and the aliens would find our world a hollow prize if we turned it into a radioactive cinder."

This document accomplished nothing more than confirming Derek Himmler's research... in spades!

After all, it was Himmler who discovered that the UFO energy screen could actually be detected and displayed visually on TV sets because the electrical "noise" generated by the defensive field played bloody hell with television's channel two at 55.25 megacycles. With higher TV channels receiving transmissions above the 100-megacycle range, all electrical noise, terrestrial and otherwise, became increasingly less effective.
