How Fair The Summer Sky by Robert Gordon
How Fair the Summer Sky
How fair it is, the Summer sky
With sun that hangs with heavens light
It rules upon a throne on high
Flanked by golden specks of bright
How want it is, the Autumn leaves
That dress the ground in herds
They flow like water off the trees
Swift and smooth as birds
How bleak it is, the Winter snow
That makes night blue and bitter cold
The sun takes rest far down below
A time that's ill to long behold
How fresh it is, a greening Spring
When flowers sprout across the land
And life renews all living things
Made warm by God's own hand
How lovely it is, the Summer air
That drifts around to dance and play
A dance the hot and cold can share
That takes the heart away
It soars o'er the earth, by and by
Causing grass and trees to sigh
It is perfect, soft and blue to eye
Oh, How fair the Summer sky
