The Truth About The Old Thompson Place (4 ratings) by Stephanie Hannah
Page 3 of 3 The forest was dark and scary. The wind was really fierce so it was harder
to run as fast as I could. When I looked at my watch to see how late I was
going to be, my watch read 10:30 pm. It was the same time when I stopped in
front of the house! "Cool," I thought to myself and kept on running. I looked
at the sky and it looked like it was going to rain. The sky was black and
cloudy. I ran until I reached the other side of the forest and back onto the
road. The rain then started to come down fast and hard. The sky was filled with
lightening streaks and thunder roared. I could see my house now and ran faster.
When I stepped onto my front porch I felt a sigh of relief and walked into
the house. I looked at my watch once more when I got in, and saw that I was
actually five minutes early. I smiled and ran up to my room.
I dried myself off and lay on my bed. I opened the book that Mrs. Thompson
had given me. It was her journal! I turned to the last few pages of the book
and read them?

Dear Diary,
It's been great talking to you but it has come to an end. This will be the
last time I write in here for I will be gone. James Thompson has had the last
chance. It's now been four times that he has cheated on me and I'm going to do
something about it. On October 30 I have a plan to kill him. I have already
purchased the gun and I know how to use it. I've been making a box in the attic
to store his body and no one will find him. I will hide him under two pieces of
the attic floor then bury the gun in the backyard. Feeling guilty for killing
my one and only true love, I will lock myself in the bathroom in our room and
barricade it with the wall closet so no one can get in. While inside, I will
take the kitchen knife and slice my neck for a few seconds of pain. That's the
only other way I can think of it. I don't want to do this, but James has left
me no choice. So I hope this plan works out and James gets what he
deserves!
So long!
Sincerely Clarissa Thompson
"She planed to kill him. Cool!," I said to myself in amazement.
All that she had to do was wait for some weirdo to come into the house and
help her complete her plan. I happened to be that weirdo!
Now I was the only one who knew what really happened between Mr. and Mrs.
Thompson. I don't believe she wanted anyone to know about it either because if
she did, she wouldn't have hidden him and locked herself in the bathroom. I too
planned to keep it a secret.
Now when the kids in my class talk about it, or our class studies it, and I
hear all the kids spouting rumours about what they think is true, I just nod
and agree with them. In my mind, however, I'm smiling because I got to be a
part of a wicked plan!
