Age & Inocense
         by David C. Harvey

Peering through infants eyes the world appears freash like a golden spune tapestry, a fluffy white cloud that drifts on an endless breeze.

As we grow into childhood, our eyes are covered from harsh reality with shades made of Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy And fireflies caught in a jar on a warm summer evening.

Then we age into adulthood and someone removes those frosty specticals with which they have tried to protect us. Not being ready to look directly at the glare of life our eyes are scorched and burn with the pain of war, poverty and pestolence.

Finally, we get old, the spheres in our orbs jaded the darkest green with regret of life lost, reliving the memories of happier times not so long gone when death comes quietly and snaches it all away.
