Inferno by Robert John
Page 2 of 3 All his life he had wanted revenge, now he had the means and the will to
take it.
A woman, hysteria showing plainly on her plump, sweating face, took hold of
his shoulders and shook him roughly, "do something, why are you just standing
there, get some help you idiot". Simon stared into her eyes, the energy of his
anger flashing in his own eyes, the woman saw it, and she stumbled and fell
backwards, fear replacing the look of hysteria on her face. She gasped, the
only sound that she was capable of making. Her face began to turn red, sweat
flowed freely from her brow, but Simon wanted to try something different, he
wanted to test the limits of his power. He concentrated and the woman began to
cool down, but her limbs were frozen, she could neither move nor speak, people
near by tried to help her, they called out to her and slapped her face, but
nothing, absolutely nothing worked. Simon wanted her to die slowly, to feel his
flames slowly roasting her alive. The world around the two of them seemed to
freeze, people stopped in mid stride, time stopped for everyone except Simon
and his victim. He could feel the power flowing into him, expanding his
capacity for destruction, the power seemed to come from the hatred that flowed
through the earth like blood through veins. The woman, through a massive force
of will, managed to issues a feeble moan; it reminded Simon that he had a job
to do.
He concentrated on her left breast, picturing it burning and crisping, the
fat turning to liquid and flow down the left side of her body, and as he
imagined it, so it began to happen. As he worked on her, he allowed her to
speak, but the only sound she could make, as he burnt her vagina, legs, eyes,
ears and the rest of her body parts, was a piercing scream.
After an hour he finally let the woman die, she had been unrecognisable as a
woman and a person.
When he let the world begin to flow again, people were panic stricken,
running in circles, not getting very much done.
Power, Simon wanted the power of God, to create and destroy life
indiscriminately, to rule the earth with a sword of fire. His mind shifted
again, but this time it caused him pain, he collapsed to the floor, clutching
at his head, Simon felt as if white hot sparks were being driven into his eyes
and ears. Despite the pain Simon could see the truth of what he was becoming,
he knew that it was his destiny to rule the earth with fear and death; he was
the anti-Christ, the son of the devil born on earth to prepare it for his
coming.
As the pain subsided, Simon stood up and looked around; people were running
in circles, screaming in terror of the unknown. Well Simon would make the
unknown known, but firstly he needed to gain his power base. He walked out of
the building, and just before he left it behind forever, he decided that the
people in there should all be punished for how they had treated him. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Robert John, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
