Kiti looked around the marketplace, he had to be here and she would kill him. Her eyes scanned the crowds of people, barely taking anyone’s faces in. She looked for his wild white hair.

There! Around the corner she caught a glimpse of his locks flowing out behind him. She ran pushing herself as hard as she could, her panting and sweating not causing her to slow. Kiti’s rage pulled her forward. Her eyes glazed over as she ran, for the millionth time she ran over the horrible moment again.

"No! Stay away from her!" Galyth screamed as he pulled the sword from his sheath. Rage built within him. He wasn’t going to let the woman he loved die.

"What do you think your doing?" The man cloaked in shadows asked, mockingly.

"You will not take her, not like you took the others. If you want her get through me!" He pulled the sword up higher, standing with the falchion parallel to the ground and steady at his waist. He readied himself. He would die for this maiden if need be. He glanced behind him at Kiti who stand shaking behind him, "Run, I need you to run! I won’t be able to hold him off long. You need to gather courage my sweet, and flee like never before!"

She looked at him, tears in her eyes, and shook her head, "I refuse to leave you," she touched his back gently; somehow she knew it would be the last time she would.

"Such a touching moment. Quickly now, say your good-byes. I tire of this babble." The cloaked man spoke, disdain poured out with the words. He stepped out of the shadows and brought up the two-handed weapon that Galyth knew to be his slayer.

The blade gleamed without light. A smoke like aura surrounded the finely crafted weapon. The Silver blade was stained with the red tint of blood, never before had Galyth ever seen this menacing a sword. It brought fear to him with simply a glance.

"Kiti, go!" He looked behind him again she was on her knees, her face in her hands weeping like a child, "If you ever loved me…." He paused waiting for her to look up at him, "…then leave! Don’t’ waste you life here, I will not die in vain! Run, woman!"

She stared at him… the look in his eyes would forever fuel the rage that runs her life.

She stood, turned and ran as fast as her legs would carry her. She hadn’t been running long when she heard the man laugh maniacally. She turned around for a second hoping to see him be stuck down…but the sight was and the hope was not the same. Blood poured from this man’s blade as he stood over her loves body. She stopped in her tracks; she no longer had the will to run. The man took a step toward her.

"Now for you my love!" The man called to her, and with a flash of light he was above her.

Kiti didn’t care. She couldn’t care…everything that was right in this world had gone. She had nothing, no one… Where to turn? Where to go? Her life had been taken with his. She had given up.

"Not going to fight back? Where is the fun in that?" The man let the sword hang from one hand and shifted his weight to one foot.
