The next morning we awoke to the phone ringing, loudly. The nurse informed us that we would be going down within the next hour. We waited patiently until it was time for the exam, they administered the medicine to put my baby out once again. On our way down, I held his hand praying that this time there would be a major change in his prognosis. Arriving minutes later in the MRI department I saw Dr. Steinberg and gave him a friendly smile. The test went pretty quick since we knew exactly which part to examine. Dr. Brown joined us saying " I hope you guys had a good night sleep". "Of course, it was like having a mini vacation in a hotel room, with room service and everything.

We breifly discussed my sons progress and that we should continue the medication for another week. At that time we can just follow-up with his regular doctor in Paris. I thanked Dr. Brown for all of his help and expressed my appreciation for him being so consistent and caring. We stayed in the recovery room while waiting on my son to awake from being under. Dr. Steinberg entered the room "Miss Jones, I would love to see or talk to you again,if possible". Smiling," that would be great" I said. We exchanged numbers, e-mail and addresses, then I left for the long trip home.

I arrived home about three hours leaving because of traffic. Mother was at home with my other son, everyone wanted to know what had happen and what the doctor had said. We talked for a while then they went home to give me some rest. I was startled by the phone, it was Dr. Steinberg calling to see if we had made it home okay. He didn't talk long , he knew that I was getting some well deserve rest and said he would call back later. The next day I received a dozen of roses, not expecting them i hurried to read the card. The card read "I enjoyed our dinner date and can hardly wait for the next one." Not knowing what to think, I smiled and called him to thank him. He said " I hope I'm not being to forward, but i would like to get to know you better". Not as a Dr. and patient relationship, but more of a personal one. God, could this be the one that you have sent me? I hesitated then said" that would be ffine, maybe youcan visit on your next day off". He said "well I'm off this weekend, I could be there in four hours". Wow, that's short notice ,but okay. I'll call as soon as get on the road, if you don't mind could you get me a hotel room since you know the area? Yes, I can do that, what type of room and how many nights? Huh, what's the nicest one there? The Hampton Inn, but it's expensive! That's okay , I just want something nice.quiet and elegant. If you don't mind just get a Suite for three nights, heres my credit card number.

I had to call Teri and update her on the recent happenings and the new guy. She was excited for me, "Mona you deserve to be happy" she said, "bring him by work so I can meethim". If he wants to I will ,but I'm not going to make it priority, okay? Well I'll talk to you later I'm getting a beep. "Hello" are you already here? "Yes, I just made it to the Mirabeau Shopping Center, where should I go from here?" If you keep going east, your Hotel is right behind the Braum's and I will meet you there okay, and your room is 401. " I can't wait to see you!" he said , with excitement in his voice. I got to the front desk and asked if Dr. Steinberg had checked in, the clerk said he just went up to his room. I caught the elevator up to his Suite and gently knocked, he was hansome in jeans and polo shirt . I was almost caught of guard not seeing him dressed in civilian clothes before,I thought I had the wrong room. He invited me in ,gave me a hug and began to unpack. Iasked ," So how do you like the room?" This is great better that I expected for such a small town, he said with a cheesy grin. We do have some nice things here, speaking of nice things I need to go get a dress for church tomorrow, would you like to go? Yeah, I need to get some things too.
