Lessening Times
         by Curtis M. Joseph

In love am I.
That this
will be a calliope
to her that claims my
heart.

At fast she quickens
that delights of the day.
In somber the Moon kneels
to her prayers.

Pleasantries are a midst's.
In the waking moments
with her.

Could I not be Cupid?
The Valkyrie steals my
heart to Valhalla.
Shrouded corpse lays
ad hoc.

Songs from the birds
consoled the
ravens that wept.

Rueful of loving
I am not sorry.

Abundantly
what I loved,
no tears will I shed.

What is wept
I cannot
reclaim to insolvency.
