Infinity Minus One

He concocted a genetic cocktail to be seeded in the oceans that would eventually be transformed into a variety of plant life. Pi then adjusted the chemical composition of the oceans and atmosphere just the right amount so that animal life could also eventually sprout from the oceans.

Pi was satisfied for now. As the eons passed, the continents parted, the vegetation grew, and the fauna proliferated on land, in the sea, and in the air.

He was ready for the final adjustment. Pi selected the most promising of the new animals and altered its genetic structure. The creature was given the ability to better itself. It was endowed with the glimmer of what would evolve into superior intelligence compared to the rest of the animal kingdom. This creature would be master of all that was on this planet.

Pi leaned back and surveyed His labors. The creatures imbued with intelligence began to spread and prosper.

Soon, He would join them and be fulfilled.
