Family (6 ratings) by John Lee
Once upon a time
there was a family
that lived in a mudbrick wall house
that hardly shined
In the middle of a forrest of trees
with a creek as some where to douse
they lived their seven years
I had been there since my birth
The inlet was just down the road
but slowly after many tears
we had to say goodbye to our earth
We left there in a solemn mode
we were evicted and had seven days to go
Mum appealled to the courts
mum won the case
We returned but the council was our foe
they had other thoughts
my brothers, my mother and I had to find a new base
