Psychopath
         by Tiffany Little

The devil on our shoulder,
the voices in our head.
Conflicting forces of our conscience.
Not knowing where we're led.

Such confusion in our mind,
As he whispers in our ear.
Is what we're doing right.
That he doesn't care.

Some people don't believe us.
But they don't understand.
Its not our fault.
We just obey the command.

And so they lock us here.
But they can't keep him away.
He laughs, while all thought he mauls.
As up the padded walls we crawl.

There's no escape for us.
Because he sits on our shoulder,
rocking to and fro
And he? He won't let us go.

We wonder where is the angel that used to balance us . . . .. .gone, gone like our mind eh?
