Deathcraft (Book Synopsis) by Emmet Lynch double-dragon-ebooks.comPage 1 of 1 This story centres on the triangle between Orlok (a human
counter-terrorist), Alexien (a robot soldier) and Pilot (a demon from hell).
But Alexien is flawed. He has killed 14 of his own people so far, and no one
knows why! Teamed up with Orlok (a one-man killing machine) they are sent
by their secretive, and hugely powerful employer, The Company, to find and kill
Pilot. Just your average immortal demon from hell, who has been causing chaos
for the last few thousand years, Pilot will be Alexien's final test. If
Alexien passes this test, mass-production of robots will begin (with Alexien as
their blueprint) and they will be sold to governments, armies and police
agencies across the universe. Alexien will become the father of a race of
slaves. Orlok is the only one trusted with the expensive (and dangerous)
Alexien. Orlok also has his own problems, not to mention being teamed
with the most dangerous soldier in history (apart from himself!) Orlok is the
last of his generation. He can trace his lineage in an unbroken
male-successor line back to the last Celtic High King. But he is aware
that the line ends in him. He has no children, and with his chosen
lifestyle, the chances of having some are slim indeed! Both Orlok and
Alexien are trained killers, but with an ironic respect for life. Both
are highly talented in death-craft. Alexien is at the beginning of his
ancestry, and Orlok is at the end. They are opposite sides of the same
coin. So, after the Company has dispatched several hit squads to kill
Pilot, all of which have failed, it is the turn of Orlok and Alexien.
This is a fast paced gun-toting hunt. Pilot leads Orlok and Alexien a merry
dance, showing off his demonic arts along the way, killing all guests at a
hotel in an instant, bi-location, immortality, and even taking our two heroes
on a brief visit to hell itself! How can two soldiers from the 22nd
Century hope to kill an immortal demon? Our heroes travel in a flying
cars, break into a military complex, chase Pilot through the streets of a large
city (he on a flying motor-bike) and eventually come head to head in a bloody
battle in Israel. And all Hell may just break loose.
