Here in the shadows of God's love
though the light grows e'er dim
Brave hearts will come forth bearing arms
to fight the dark within
their hearts,
and their homes....
Blackheart Forest, Mytheon (Cryo26.5)
"Do what you can, you're a fine young man! May the Gods walk closely with
you
Take what you find, bring it back to your kind! Together we'll see this
fight
through
And darkness be with you to hide your shine, stay down and you'll be
undetected
Count their troops right, get back by first light - In a few days we'll all
home"
The Scout made it back to the dark-hearted camp and the news was quite
unexpected
"They crumble and die in the day's first light! Does this mean we can
finally
go home?"
And all the men cheered as the war camp was cleared till the screams of the
enemy was heard
"What's going on? It’s a trick by God! Check your weapons, we can't go
home"
(Oh no!!)
The battle raged on though the day's light was gone and the blood ran in
rivers and streams
And later that night, the last hero died - one of many in an endless red
sea
"The battle may be done, but the war's just begun!" the last
remaining
warrior shout
He jumped on his steed and ran with full speed and heavy was the Brave
Scout's heart
He rode...
Thirteen days gone and the Scout stumbled on, but there was no friendly face
to be found
While riding through the Forest of Trees With Gold Leaves his horse stopped,
and knelt to the ground
And as he dismounted, many figures appeared, drifting down from the gold
wood
To his weary surprise, he saw elven eyes! With relief, he collapsed to the
earth
The Scout's tale was told and a council was formed in the kingdom of
Gildensleeve
A small band of dwarves had arrived that same morn with an elder from a
village by the sea
A master plan was formed by the elves and the dwarves to uncover a thousand
year weapon
The Staff Of All Wizards, long lost to the world, had been held once by the
old man
He rose...
The Druid was tall, long bearded and gray and his white robe flowed to the
floor
In his eyes was great wisdom, compassion and strength and the Scout knew
he'd
seen him before
"I am Bular, I have seen many wars and the Staff Of All Wizards I've
wielded
Its power is mighty, it can fight the foe! But I'll need help to set it
free.
Who will go with me?"

Couriers were sent to Cahlia the King with news of impending doom
He had known that trouble beset his land, but now he knew the dreadful
truth
"Notify every scribe in each province, every town, that their skills are
needed most now"
Then he called for quill, parchment and seal and his message was heard o'er
the land: Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Cathleen L. Mann, sffworld.com. All rights reserved. No part of this may be reproduced or reprinted without permission in writing from the author.
