Face In The Darkness by Marcus
I sit in that gloomy darkness, my mind free to roam with only a memory of a body floating in infinity. After an age of eternities pass me by, a shape takes form in the darkness. The shape of eyes and a mouth, a face with no head, disembodied. For a moment I paused to gain knowledge of the entity, then it spoke. "Why do you fear me?" the face of the darkness said. And I replied "I do not fear you, for you are me and I you and we the one". "I see" came the voice of the face. Then I said to myself there faced in darkness. "I fear for those who would love me.". Then all was silent for a while.
