As Sue, John’s wife cut their daughter Kelly’s cake John went to the back to see what all the other little girls were doing. Seeing no one he went to where all the horses were. Right after John realized the pen was empty he heard a scream from the other side of the field. John turned and ran at full speed to get to where he heard the scream. He saw all the horses running away from the large group of children that were gathered around something. As he cut through all the girls to see what they were gathering around he realized what it was. Kelly had gotten trampled by the herd of horses while trying to let them out of the pen. John fell to his knees and held Kelly’s bloody and mulled body. He could hear Sue calling him but he could only cry and hold on to his once lively little girl. Out of the corner of his eye he saw his wife break out in tears and fall to her knees also.

"How are you doing Sue?" John’s mother, Peggy, asked appearing very worried. Sue wipes her red, watery eyes and says, "alright I guess. How do you expect me to feel? I just had my only little girl taking away from me". " I know Sue we all lost her. You know she was my granddaughter and I did love her very much." Peggy was getting a little short tempered. "Sorry Sue I didn’t mean to snap at you but this is very hard on all of us. So how is John doing"? "John and I are both doing pretty bad, I’ve even thought of……….never mind. Yeah we’ll be alright we just need time." Sue stops and thinks about what she was going to say and decides it is a bad idea.

Later that night after the funeral and after everyone had left Sue and John had gone to bed. John’s alarm goes off at exactly 6:00 a.m He sits up and wipes his eyes. John looks at his hands to find blood all over them. He turns to his wife and sees her body lying there with both of her wrists cut to the bone and lying in a puddle of blood. John all though sad is not surprised. He got up and called the police. After he filled out all the police reports and talked to everyone he cleaned up his room and went to bed. Now feeling like there is no reason for living John goes and buys an eighth of pure heroin. After he puts it all in one needle John sits down on his bed ties his arm and injects all of it.

Darkness falls over John’s eyes, he tries to open them but its no use he can’t see anyway. He tries to get to his feet but stumbles and falls on his face. Finally getting his balance he walks in one direction till he reaches a wall. It seemed like it took three hours till he finally reached out and touched something. Feeling his way around the room he reaches a door. At first he tries to pull it open but it wouldn’t budge. Now realizing that the door pushes open he turns the doorknob and pushes it open. The door flies open and he almost falls down into this very bright light. The light seems to be sucking him into itself. John barley grabs the doorknob and gazes into the once very large room to find that it is no bigger than a closet.
