The monster replied," Do you really think you can defeat me." The monster took a sword off the table and swung at Marxm. He missed. Marxm fired energy at his foe. It couldn’t penetrate his skin at all. The monster threw his sword at Marxm. He ducked at the sword and it got stuck in a slab of stone. Marxm pulled it out and punctured the monster. He fell backwards breathing heavily. Marxm stood over the monster and the monster yelled," Don’t kill me yet. I have a last request."

Marxm said," And why should I help you."

The monster replied," If you do this for me I will give you a better wand. This means a lot to me. When my brother was about 20 years old, he was crowned king of all the monsters. He didn’t like my mother or me because I was my mother’s favorite. He had her publicly killed. I ran while they were watching and have been hiding here ever since. I could never face an army of that size so I put a curse on my brother. When he is killed everyone he’s hurt will come back. This includes my mother. I need to see my mother one last time."

Marxm replied," How do I know you’re telling the truth."

The monster answered," Take the wand now. It will let you shoot ice and lightning. If I was lying I wouldn’t help you."

Marxm replied," Okay. I will help you." He ran back to the elf camp first to talk to the leader. He said, " I couldn’t kill him. He had a last request. I guess I failed."

The leader replied, " No you didn’t. You have proven that you are brave, strong, courageous and most important, you are a good person. I am dying and need someone of your qualities to lead my elves. Do you accept?"

Marxm replied," I would be honored to lead your elves. Now I must go." Marxm left the tent. The leader coughed twice, and died.

Chapter 4… The Last Request

Marxm ran to the land of the monsters. When he saw the king’s fortress. He asked a guard if he could see the king. They brought him to the door of the king’s throne room. He opened it and drew his wand out from its holder. He said to the king, "You killed your mother. Your brother is in hiding. This is a sin greater than anything. Now you must pay the price."

The monster leader roared," And by whom. I don’t see anyone capable of defeating me. Guards kill him."

The guards moved in and Marxm shot lightning bolts at them. This wasn’t hard with his new wand. It was he and the king’s two main guards left. Marxm shot an icicle at the monster’s head. Instead of going through his head it hit him. He became disoriented. He swung his massive axe at what he thought was Marxm and killed his two guards. Marxm shot an ice shard at the monster’s chest puncturing his heart. The monster fell dead. Suddenly a purple essence arose and formed the shape of a female monster. Marxm asked, "Are you the cave monster’s mother."

She replied," Yes I am. Can you take me to him?"

"That’s what I have to do. Follow me." They ran to the beginning of the fortress and exited through the gates. Marxm ran ahead and killed a patrolling guard. The way was clear. They ran as fast as they could and made it to the cave. As soon as they walked in the monster embraced his mother. Marxm said, "Before I go I need something from you. An old man asked me to retrieve special herbs from this cave. Can I have them?"

"Yes, yes of course you can. Take them. Thank you for helping me."
