Say by Moondy
You say you never want to hurt me,
But in the end its all a lie.
A scam to win me over than shoot me down.
All my friends warned me about you,
But you fed me lies.
Instead of opening my eyes like you swore you would,
You blinded me.
You showered me with love and attention,
I thought it was because you loved me,
Truth,
You just wanted something in return.
Every sweet thing you did for me,
Came with a bargain,
A fact I wasn't aware of till it was over.
But looking back,
I see that you used me.
Not just body but mind and sole too.
I guess I just got a taste of my own medicine,
That's what all this was for.
The player got played.
As much as I hate to admit it,
I was wrong.
It was never my attention to hurt anyone,
But I guess it happened more than I really thought.
I have quit the game,
And now I'm grateful for what you taught me.
Even if it meant getting hurt in the process.
But those wounds were simple,
The pain came from the truth which you showed me.
I will always remember the last thing you said ,
'You became what you always feared the most......your father.'
With that you left me.
And it took me a long time to really understand your wise words.
But now so many years later,
I thank you.
